The
famous Harrow School, attended by seven prime
ministers including Sir Winston Churchill
stands on top of Harrow on the Hill, near
to the 900 year old St. Mary's Church.
Grimsdyke
House, in Old Redding, Harrow Weald, once
home of W.S. Gilbert, of Gilbert and Sulivan
fame, is now a beautiful hotel.
Situated
in Stanmore is Bentley Priory, once the home
of Queen Adelaide and later the headquarters
of Fighter Command from where Lord Dowding
commanded the Battle of Britain. Bentley Priory
is still used by the R.A.F.
